About Kristina

Hi, I’m Kristina (she/her). I am a licensed individual, family, and couples therapist, educator, and mental health advocate.

Therapy with me will always leave room for you to be your true and authentic self, and it’s my hope to collaborate with you on your own path to healing.

I am a second-generation daughter of immigrants from the Philippines. My values are deeply rooted in family, community, radical self-awareness, and racial and social justice. My therapeutic practice is informed by cultural humility and cultural responsiveness. This means I remain curious and self-reflective in my work with my clients. I am aware of my own values and beliefs, which in turn allows me to understand the makeup and context of another person’s life. I consider how social, historical, cultural, and political contexts can impact an individual’s lived experience. In my practice, I am aware of and sensitive to the historic realities that can leave lasting effects on certain individuals and communities.

I am licensed in the state of California (LMFT #127245). I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor’s degree in 2 fields of study: Ethnic Studies (which strongly informs my therapeutic practice) and Communication from the University of California, San Diego.

When I am not in session, you can find me hanging out with my rescue dogs and cats, (read: picking up dog poop and cleaning litter boxes), reading a good book, exploring new places to eat, watching all the shows your friends and fam asked if you’ve seen yet, and geeking out on pop culture.
